Pork Bistek Tagalog Recipe

Meet the ulam that never misses. A classic Pinoy favorite — tangy, savory, and always hits home.

Pork Bistek Recipe

A Filipino classic with a twist! This Pork Bistek Tagalog combines tender pork slices marinated in soy sauce and calamansi, then simmered with onions for that rich, savory-sour flavor we all love. Simple, hearty, and best served with a warm bowl of rice—comfort food at its finest!

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the Set A ingredients and let it marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. In a pan, heat the cooking oil over high heat for 1 minute. Pan-fry the marinated TGM Pork

Chops for 3-4 minutes each side. Then set aside.

  1. Add the other Set B ingredients except the onions cut into rings into the heated oil and saute

until translucent.

  1. Add the cooked TGM Pork Chops and pour over the remaining marinade. Season it with Set C

ingredients. Let it simmer over medium heat for 45 minutes.

  1. Add the onions cut into rings and cook for 3 more minutes.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy!

Tips:

  • You may use concentrated calamansi juice in a bottle as a substitute for fresh calamansi.
  • Recipes can be applied to other raw meat.
  • You may also use red onion if there is no white onion.
  • Cut the onion rings bigger to enjoy the crispy texture of the onions.
