When the weather calls for a warm hug in a bowl, nothing hits the spot quite like a classic Almondigas Soup. This beloved Filipino favorite is light, nutritious, and incredibly satisfying.

Our secret? Using the high-quality The Good Meat Ground Pork to create the perfect, tender meatballs. Mixed with fresh cabbage, onions, and a touch of seasoning, these meatballs simmer in a savory broth, alongside delicate misua (fine rice noodles) for that authentic, comforting texture.

Instructions

  1. Combine The Good Meat ground pork, finely chopped cabbage, onion, and egg in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Scoop and form into meatballs using a spoon. Make around 12 meatballs.
  3. Over medium-low heat, add oil in a soup pot. Saute sliced onion until translucent. Add garlic and cook until light brown.
  4. Pour a liter of water, add chicken bouillon cube to taste. Bring it to a boil.
  5. Add the meatbolls into the soup. Bring to a boil and let it simmer until meat is cooked through. Remove scum that may rise to the surface of the broth.
  6. Add misua into the broth. Cook until softened.
  7. Serve in a bowl while hot. Optional: Garnish with chopped spring onions or fried garlic.
